Zane Hooper has been operating Bayview Cottages for over 50 years and is proud of this very peaceful place to escape to. From his cottages, located at Scudder Bay, North Shore of Pelee Island, one can watch the sun rise from the east over lighthouse point and set to the west over Sheridan point. On a clear day the mainland can be seen from the private sandy beach. The shipping channel is 5 miles north of the bay. Huge vessels, some 1000 feet long, transport more tonnage than the Suez & Panama combined. At night, the stars come out to shine, Ursa Minor (the big dipper) and the north star some 400 light years away are much larger than our sun. A light year is 5.88 trillion miles. Bayview Cottages are within walking distance to marinas, restaurants and Conorlee's Bakery. These are housekeeping cottages (no linen provided). Each Cottage comes equipped with a propane barbecue, picnic table, chairs and benches. Due to weather problems in the Fall (during hunt season) check in and check out times are flexible.
